Estetyka Chmur

  1. Tymoteusz Andrearczyk

Phenomenon of clouds has a great potential, not only in creating and changing weather conditions. Clouds take different shapes and various forms, which suggest that they are similar to something, resemble something. I assume this way of subjective identification has always existed, since a man started looking at the puffs. I decided to find out different ways the clouds functioned in the past eras, what they meant, how they were depicted, what they were compared to and how they were changed. I put myself to the task to define what the clouds are in an aesthetic experience. I am trying to create an objective picture of clouds containing the biggest number of prospective approaches, opening for the new, unknown experience of clouds. As far as I am concerned, aesthetics of the sublime will be essential to describe this experience. The following text is an introduction to searching for the meanings which clouds create in literature and painting.
